Life in the Lab

The Di Pilato Lab offers a highly collaborative and intellectually vibrant environment that fosters both team-driven discovery and individual scientific growth. Lab members engage in cutting-edge research aimed at unraveling fundamental mechanisms in tumor immunology, with particular emphasis on the tumor microenvironmnet, dendritic cell-T cell interactions, and immune regulation of cancer progression.
Researchers in the lab gain hands-on experience with a wide array of advanced techniques, including - multicolor flow cytometry and FACS for immune cell profling and isolation, single-cell genomics and transcriptomics, in vivo tumor modeling, multiphoton intravital microscopy, and molecular and cellular immunology assays.
Resources available to the lab include superb FACS/flow cytometry facilities, SPF animal housing, cell culture facilities, fluorescent and light microscopes, computational resources, and MD Anderson core facilities.
