Cancer Survivorship Professional Education
Patients are living longer after treatment. And, for most of the 20 million cancer survivors in the U.S., life doesn¡¯t return to its pre-diagnosis normal.
As cancer patients transition from active treatment toto survivorship, having an interprofessional care team that understands and can respond to their evolving health needs can significantly improve their quality of life.
Â鶹ӳ» MD Anderson Cancer Center is dedicated to advancing the field of cancer survivorship by offering reliable resources and establishing strong connections with community care providers who are committed to supporting cancer survivors and maximizing their outcomes.

Algorithms
MD Anderson's cancer survivorship algorithms provide best practices in post-treatment care of cancer survivors. Patients are transitioned to Survivorship once there is no evidence of disease for a specific time period dependent on the patient¡¯s cancer site.
These algorithms are not intended to replace the independent medical judgment of the physician in the context of individual clinical circumstances to determine a patient's care.
- Find the cancer survivorship algorithm most appropriate for your patients, depending on cancer diagnosis, through our webpage.
- We also recently developed an app to view the content of the survivorship algorithms that are available for download from the . Â鶹ӳ» ¡°cancer survivorship algorithm."
