Areas of Research
- Immunology
- Immunotherapy
- Tumor Microenvironment
At the Di Pilato Laboratory, we are driven to uncover the vital roles that specific immune cells play within tumors. Our focus is to unravel how antigen-presenting cells influence tumor progression and shape T cell responses against cancer. We are determined to understand why some cancer patients do not respond to current immunotherapies. Through cutting-edge discovery science, we aim to pioneer innovative strategies that improve treatment outcomes and significantly enhance quality of life for these patients.

Our Research
Our discovery laboratory is dedicated to unraveling the fundamental cellular interactions within the tumor microenvironment, with a special focus on CCR7+ dendritic cells and the specific molecules they use to regulate T cell responses. By leveraging innovative mouse models and human cancer specimens, we strive to uncover novel strategies to regulate T cell accumulation and develop approaches that boost the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy.
