The Goswami Lab focuses on basic and translational studies investigating epigenetic pathways regulating responses and resistance to immune-based therapies. Our experimental approach is built upon a reverse translational strategy to explore the therapeutic vulnerabilities of epigenetic factors governing functional states of tumor and immune cell subsets. The overall goal of the lab is to develop a comprehensive understanding of epigenetic pathways that drive functional heterogeneity of immune cell subsets modulating therapeutic response or resistance to immune-based therapies and to evaluate potential biomarkers to stratify cancer patients into predictive categories to receive personalized immunotherapies and/or epigenetic modulators in a tumor-specific manner.
Our Research
We aim to develop strategies to target specific pathways to overcome primary and adaptive resistance to immune-based therapies.
We have identified critical epigenetic pathways that regulate functional phenotypes of T cells and myeloid cells that are currently being tested in the clinic.
2025 Faculty Scholars
Congratulations to Dr. Goswami, who was one of six faculty members selected as a recipient of the 2025 Faculty Scholar Awards!
The Faculty Scholar Program was established to recognize eligible assistant and associate professors who exhibit outstanding abilities and excellence in research, education, patient care or prevention.
