Breast Cancer Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies in which patients may volunteer to take part. UT MD Anderson uses clinical trials to find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Doctors use treatment trials to learn more about how to fight cancer.
The current breast cancer clinical trials are listed below. Find more information on clinical trials at UT MD Anderson.
2016-0046
Multicenter Trial for Eliminating Breast Cancer Surgery or XRT on Exceptional Responders to Neoadjuvant Systemic Therapy
This clinical trial studies eliminating surgery and how well radiation therapy after systemic therapy works in treating patients with HER2 positive or triple negative breast cancer when image-guided biopsy shows no residual cancer. Patients then receive standard breast radiotherapy.
Radiation Therapy With or Without Olaparib in Treating Patients With Inflammatory Breast Cancer
This Phase 2 trial studies how well radiation therapy with or without olaparib works in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Olaparib is an inhibitor of PARP, an enzyme that helps repair deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) when it becomes damaged.
